Some of you all know that my now husband and I met on an online school called “The Potter’s School”. I met Ansley through the same school in another class and social media has helped us keep up through the years until recently when I saw that she was ENGAGED!! When she asked me to fly out to Idaho to photograph their wedding, OF COURSE, I SAID YESSSSS!!
I flew in to Boise, Idaho on Thursday night, took my first Uber ride and said “hello” to the driver in Swahili, which was cool. I picked up Johnny’s car (THANKS for trusting me with that!), and the next morning was off to witness the start of a marriage. I walked in on the wedding day to happy squeals from the bride and lots of hugs – what a sweet thing to get to meet this friend AND watch her become a wife. Ansley one of the sweetest, most genuinely beautiful people I know. Johnny is a perfect match for her and their love for each other was SO evident throughout the entire day. Not only that, but their love for the Christ, and the amount of love that was poured out by their family and friends was so beautiful. There were guests from college, childhood, and Ansley’s dear friends all the way from FRANCE!
I teared up more than once behind my camera during this day, and smiled the rest of the time. Ansley and Johnny, THANK YOU for trusting me with this. Thank you for flying me all the way to the other side of the country to spend this day with you. Thank you for the beautiful example you are of Christ’s love for us in the way you love each other. I am so so excited that you’re husband and wife, and I cannot wait to see all the ways God will use you. Johnny – you did GOOD. Ansley, you are a treasure. I hope our paths cross again! Love you, sweet friend! Here’s to married life, for both of us!!
